Do you know there is a beryllium oxide plate in there that will kill you if handled wrong.

Working on refurbishing one of these, with Harbach upgrades like a soft start module, a power supply board, and soft key unit so I can use it with my IC-718 without cooking the transceiver.

what are these worth if works as should if fair cond?

Mine gives with 50watt = 900watt. If i cranc to 100watt then it peaks ssb to 1800-1900watts.. I think your tubes are ... about 50%

i have 2 of them. Great linears, but i did ground grids and use European tubes QB3,5-750 as Amerikan tubes are crazy priced..

I only got my license and callsign last year... but that transceiver and the hobby stole my heart when I was six )). For that reason I told my self that my transceiver will be the one I've seen when I was a kid and made me love the hobby so much hehe. 73... is a beautiful vintage TRX.

This amp is only supposed to do 400 watt max on cw. You're overdriving the amp..

Would you consider doing the whole thing again, but focusing on the SB-220, as you adjust each one of the controls as the effect is shown on the PLATE METER and the PLATE VOLTAGE -KV or lower the camera image a little bit. Otherwise, your presentation is appreciated. Thank you!

I acquired my General ticket last year and I have a used Yaesu FT-757GX and an LK500ZB Amp Supply Amp I inherited from my deceased uncle KK4LZ. I have read the FT-757GX Operator's manual and I am not sure which connection I plug the rca jack in on the back of the radio. Does the LK500ZB have a relay coil voltage over 50 volts? According to the manual the internal control relay in the FT-7 5 7GX is not designed to handle high voltage (above 50 V) or current (above 400 mA). Can you advise how I connect the radio to this amp? Thank you

Gain should be 10 db, or 10 times the drive. 50 watts in = 500 watts out.

I have one its a great amplifier

I know this is an older video but his plate voltage at 2100 is low, I'd bet if he replaced the power supply capacitors it would be back up to 2400 volts and put out more like 600-700 watts. Stock is 125uf, I replaced mine with 180uf - any higher and you want to install a soft start circuit to minimize inrush current.

Thanks. I have one as well. Rebuilt it. New Caps & resistors, new Cathode/Anode resistors, rew keying relay, tubes are 100%. Bob K7RHB & Ron KA7U helped me rebuild it & allowed me to do the work within my skill-set & rechecked my work. GREAT OLD AMP!

When you are tuning up the transmitter always have the amp. in standby and let the tubes rest about fifteen seconds. What you did will wear the tubes out fast.

It is my opinion you should show all the bands even 10 meter.. But you do good videos
